Birthday ideas for my dad?

My dad is turning 52 in 28 days. I have no idea what to get him! I was thinking of an ipod nano with the arm band for when he's gardening or something, but I don't think he would use it that much.

Also, what should I do on his birthday? I'm thinking of hiring a private room in a restaurant for close family and friends for a nice lunch...

Any ideas you may have would be very helpful!

A family get together would be a great idea to celebrate his birthday. As for a gift give him something personal that is unique to his interests or hobbies. What does he like to do? How does he spend his "ME" time. Viewing sports, reading, fishing, golfing,
puzzles etc. I'm certain you've had a few hints in his time. He won't feel comfortable telling you or asking for something. It's a Dad thing. Give it some thought, you'll do fine.

Okay Sony dad is my BEST FRIEND! I love him and I want him to have a really good birthday. He is a little bit gangstah and has tattoos all over his body. FYI. But I want this party to be colorful and exciting. Does anyone have any ideas? It's coming up on July 17th so I gotta hurry
