I am a girl, about to turn 13. I am not your usual girly-girl, who likes make-up or dressing up. Though, on the other hand, i'm not too sporty either! I am animal-crazy!! I love cycling and live in Dubai (hot weather). I am quite independant too. Pls give me some ideas on what i can ask for as a b'day gift!

Answer
A dirt bike...just a small one to get started and see if you like it.

A bush baby...super cute super fun little animals!

A new bicycle...but an interesting one like a recumbent bike: http://www.lightningbikes.com/thunderbolt.htm
Or a seven person bike:
http://conferencebike.com/
Or just a tandem bike :)
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandem_bicycle

How about lessons of some kind? Karate, singing, or something fun you want to learn.

A gift certificate to your favorite store is always good...then you get to choose the perfect thing :)

maybe a special trip with your friends?

A laptop?
An ipod?
A telescope?
A chinchilla?
A cruise? Haha
Maybe a trip to somewhere where you can see lots of animals with your family !

Happy almost birthday! :)

Creative ways to give a present?

Katie

I've bought my boyfriend a trip to Dubai for his birthday and I'm a little stuck on a creative idea on how to present it to him rather than just handing over a ticket in an envelope.... What's your ideas? Any feedback is much appreciated
Thank you

Answer
I once received a beach vacation as a gift and it was giving to me by somebody in a really nice way. She took a square glas container, filled the same up with sand and decoracted the sand. She bought a small Playmobile figure (representing me), a sun bed, sun umbrella, etc. It was really cute.

Another idea might be to make a collage of pix of Dubai and insert the ticket somehow.
Buy a camel carrying bags and put the ticket in one of the bags.
Buy some swimming trunks and hand over both.

I'm quiet sure you'll come up with something nice.

Maria Gall

I know this may sound rather odd, but I try to plan financially everything I do a year in advance in hopes to avoid any surprises in my checkbook. Anyways, what should I buy or make for people next year for their birthdays? I preferably want to give them a homemade gift (what are some creative ideas for homemade birthday gifts?), but if that's tasteless I'm open to almost anything.

My best friend will turn 44 years old

My brother, his girlfriend, and a friend will turn 19

Important friends will turn 21, 23, and 24

My boyfriend will turn 27

A dear male friend who's in prison will turn 23 yrs. old

A brother will turn 50 and a sister will turn 40.

My important nieces and nephews between 2-15

Daddy will turn 75 (my mom is deceased)

My other siblings and friends will receive birthday cards.

Thank you in advance as I greatly appreciate your input and advice.

Answer
Wow, organization like that is amazing (if a little scary). Only you know your friends, and your talents (some people should never bake anything for anyone), so suggestions really might not be so good.

For those that like them, how about candles? They are easy to make, all you need is some wax (even from old candles), crayons for color, string (dipped in the hot wax, curled around a pencil on one end, weighted with a coin for the bottom of the candle), scent (or unscented - some people like candles but gag @ the smell), maybe one of their favorites (can get samples sometimes, but oils work best), and a quart or half gallon waxed paper juice or milk carton. This also should prob be done in one of those disposable foil pans.

Melt the wax, adding the crayons, scent (or not). Stir. Cut off the top of the carton where it starts to fold, so that you have just the square. Rest the pencil with the string (wick) on top (the weighted end should be at the bottom of the carton. Pour a little wax in to fix the wick in place in the center of the carton. Give it a little time to solidify (about 20 min-1/2 hr. Stick the whole thing in the fridge or freezer if you want to move it along more quickly).

Get some ice cubes from the tray and fill the carton with them. Stir the wax again (the wax should be hot enough to pour). Then pour it into the carton over the ice cubes. Let it cool & set (give it a couple hrs minumum, overnight is best, or do the fridge thing. You don't want to stick this in the freezer or the water in the carton will re-ice). Peel away the carton.

The ice will have created pockets in the candle and it looks pretty cool, certainly not like a factory candle.

For your friend in prison, baked goods sound like the way to go, perhaps lots of cookies he can share. Or a cd?

Ok, I'm off to finish my Christmas shopping for this year, half of which is still undone!

What my boyfriend should get his mom for her birthday?

Green Pand

My boyfriends moms birthday is coming up and he needs some ideas of what to get her. From what I know of his mom she loves baths, she bakes/cooks and she enjoys movies. I haven't really been around her much to know her interests. I do know she enjoys coffe, or going out with her female friends. His mom is in her early 50's and such a lovely lady who deserves the best. Any gift idea will inspire an idea. Mother's out there, what would be a perfect birthday gift from you son?

What is a good gift to Give a baby/parents for baby's 1st birthday?

I need some good gift ideas to give for a baby boy's first birthday. I do not want to just give some silly toy from target, but I also do not want to spend more then like 30 dollars. It is for coworker's son. I would really like it to be something for them both to enjoy. Ideas please!

Answer
You could get something engraved from things remembered with his name on it. Maybe a piggy bank? I liked little ride on toys for my kids. You could also get a nice picture frame for the first year or a savings bond. Also, a cute outfit is nice, but doesn't have much meaning. If you aren't close to the coworker or the child, then I wouldn't worry about it being too personal.

What kind of birthday presents can you make out of bacon?

words

My coworker is in need of ideas for our other coworker's birthday present. I am making him a birthday cake. My coworker asked what kinds of things he likes, and the first thing that came to mind was bacon. What sort of bacony gift can she make to give to him on Wednesday?

Thank you to all who answer. ;)

Answer
I think a nice gift would be a sportcoat made of bacon. It would be a handsome piece, and he would be very popular with the dogs. Remember to cook the bacon while he is wearing it so that is shrinks to a custom fit. I recently got some good advice on cooking bacon by using only body heat, so let me know if you need tips.

If you are feeling generous, you could also splurge on one of these hats of meat:

birthday gift ideas 9 yr old boy image

Do you no of any party ideas for a 9 yr old boy. they cant be at our house and if possible near stevenage in hertfordshire?

If you don't no about the location just list your ideas

If you read this question then can you just put 'i red this' if u don't know, just so i no its been red :)

Oh and i don't really want a themed party, an adventurous one would be Good

Answer
Since I am not familiar with your area I can only give you in general ideas. Since you don't want it at your house you have a few options.

Local parks are always fun. You can make it a sports event...relay races obstacle courses. These are inexpensive ideas without really being a hard core theme. A scavenger hunt at a local park would work to. You could go out ahead of time and scout the park to see what types of things are out there and do up a Scavenger list the kids can carry with them and brown bags to collect things in.

If there is a hotel near by with an indoor pool these are fun too. Some managers are willing to work with parents wanting to do parties. You rent a room and they let you invite guests to enjoy the pool and often have an area you can use for cake and gifts. After the party the family can enjoy an outing at the hotel or your son could even have one or two friends stay overnight.

9 yr old at a one-year birthday party - okay to read books, if bored?

ks

We are invited with family to a 1st birthday party. The host is a collegue from work, but my family and I don't know him very well. But got to go. It is at an upscale restaurant, but no entertainment planned for the kids. More like lots of their family from around the country gathering plus some other guests invited too.

My 9 yr does not know any of the kids, and they are likely to be mostly under 5, or boys. Would it be ok if she reads a book for part of the time? I mean at times other than eating, little bit of introduction to others, cake cutting? I so don't want to see a looong face or visual "I am bored" signals sent my way the whole time? Its weird, but the hosts would feel bad if we just didn't take her...or only stopped by for a short while, so those options are ruled out.

Answer
I think it would be okay to have as a back up (the host would probably rather see a reader than a child who is huffing and rolling their eyes and doing the fake yawn), but when you get there, try and get your child involved.

Have her try some of these:
*Offer to help watch the smaller children, so that the adults can socialize without being too preoccupied with their own kids (who knows, she may even get a 'tip').
*If there is no entertainment planned, the younger kids will get bored too and would probably love a few games, like duck-duck-goose or Simon Says. Encourage her to have a few ideas ready to engage the younger crowd. Maybe even pack some coloring pages and crayons to share.
*Ask if she can be the gift recorder; write down the gifts and who they are from as the birthday child opens them.
*Ask if she can be the one that hands the gifts to the child to be opened or takes the wrappings away when he's done.
*Ask if she can help with anything else, such as bringing cake slices to guests. Or even the napkins or forks.
*Borrow a digital camera and be an extra photographer. You can send a disk of the pictures to the host later. Most 9 year olds can take decent pictures and love to use a camera.

I think a book would be okay, but I would really only suggest she uses it as a last resort. If the host would feel bad that the child didn't attend, my guess is that the host will feel bad for 'making' the child bored.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what to get my wife this year for her birthday. She doesn't want any clothes, shoes, or things that won't fit or are uncomfortable right now since she is pregnant. I usually get her something that she wants really bad but won't buy for herself and then try to do something unique or special but she doesn't really want anything right now. Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to get something related to the baby because I will do that after the baby is born and I want the gift to be about her.

Answer
Get her some birth control! haha! . . .sorry you probably didn't find that very funny. . .

Get her some jewelery like a necklace or something like that. If she likes being pampered, offer her a day at the spa (with or without you). If she is sore or achy like some pregnant women, she'll appreciate a massage or or maybe a pedicure!

What should I get my wife for Christmas?

npmatherne

My wife and I have been married since August 4th. She is 4 months pregnant, and is not big into jewelry, make-up, or perfume. She wants something to OPEN on Christmas morning, so gift certificates or a trip to a day spa or somethign like that are out of the question. She already has an MP3 player. Also, we've set a $100 limit for each other so we don't go financially overboard because of the baby on the way. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
When I was pregnant i the winter I really didn't want to go out much for very odd reasons (afraid of falling, didn't want to get sick, i was just a nervous wreck). My husband would still go out and I was fine with that but he did something really sweet for my birthday I think would make anyone melt....
Date Nite Basket this included
Popcorn
Fleece Blanket
NetFlix Subscription
Chocolates
Flowers (Roses)
Pajamas Small enough to fit me then but I was able to wear them throughout the pregnancy bc stretchy waistband
Robe
Slippers (they were moon so it was like I was wlaking on air)
and a Ring
also he included Date Nite Tickets so that when I wanted a date night i just gave him a ticket and it was on the calander

I LOVED IT!!

My mom's 60th birthday gift is coming up and all the kids are pooling together about $800-$1000 to get her a really nice gift. The problem is the woman has everything!!! Any ideas on a unique and meaningful gift we could give to her on her birthday? Thanks!

Answer
A 60th birthday is a milestone and you guys have a good budget to work with.

Is there a show in another city that she might like to? Perhaps a weekend away for her and someone else to see the show (tickets included).

Or is there something she has always wanted to do? For example learn to ballroom dance? Lessons might be an idea...

There is a company called Red Balloon Days in Australia that have some fantastic experience based gifts that might help you with some other ideas about what you could do for your Mother closer to where you are.

For a milestone birthday for my now husband, I arranged a limousine to pick him up with his favourite cold beers and had him dropped to the harbour where we took a harbour cruise together before dinner with friends. He loved it and will always remember it because it was an experience.

Good luck!

Answer
buy her flowers. even little girls love flowers.....when we got our daughter floweres when she was 7 or 8 she was SOOO thrilled, and you don't have to get a dozen roses and spend 50 dollars, but a few carnations, tulips, rosebuds, etc in a pretty vase with a pretty ribbon around it is great. Or get her a really cute pair of pajamas and slippers, thats always something they can use.

my wife of 20 years is having her 47th b-day on the 30th,and i basically suck at buying gifts for her! She's very attractive, loves the simple thing in life and love surprises. we have a great marriage ( in all ways! ) very open and share everything together. i need some romantic ideas (anything goes here!) and gift suggestions...I do have some ideas romantically but would love more advice..thank y'all for any ideas!

Answer
Congratulations on the 20 years of marriage. (:

If she's a simple gal and perhaps going out doing the traditional stuff (dinner, movies, spas) is not the way you want to go, I would suggest finding a nice recipe and make her a romatic dinner with candles everywhere, birthday cake and all. Fireplace roaring, glass of wine (or whatever) and talk while she sits and watches you cook. Talk about your ideas for a vacation together, etc.

If having lots of friends around is the ideal, plan a quick surprise party either at your house or a local establishment.

If actually BUYING something is your dilemma and jewelry is not the answer, think of something that she can enjoy year round or a gift that keeps on giving. Golf lessons, cooking class, favorite magazine subscriptions, a Nook from Barnes and Noble if she's a reader (they are coming out with a color touch screen version soon, if not already out.) How about a pet! (:

Just some random ideas outside of the spa idea everyone else has.

what to get for afganastan?

kristy U

hi, my husband looks to be leaving forAfganastan soon. I am wanting to get things to prepare us, like for communication..like webcam another laptop etc....what should IZ do from the bigest to smallest ideas thankyou so much to all who take the time to answer

Answer
I am a British Army wife so my experiences of communications when my husband is deployed may be different from yours, but for what it's worth!....

The access they have to comms. will depend on where they are and what they are doing. Some people have access to the internet pretty frequently but others much less so, so don't panic if you don't hear from him via the net often and he can't chat for long.
We have usually found phone calls pretty straightforward but your husband might want to take more than one phone as some cell phones work... in some places!
We have a system called 'eblueys' where we can send a letter via the internet which is automatically printed out and sealed in Theatre. It's a heck of alot faster than snail mail.
My husband and I both have dictaphones, and when he is deployed he takes one and a supply of tapes. We each chat into the tape every day (I leave mine on when I am cooking or chatting to the children so he can hear the sounds of home) and then we post them at the end of the week. Trust me, when you are alone and missing him dreadfully at night there is NOTHING like being able to just flick the tape on and hear his voice.

Here is a quick list of the things we always pack (excluding kit, wash kit, and civvy clothes)

LOTS of wet wipes (in tubs, the packets dry out)
Extra socks (they get through far more than they would at home).
Immodium (they all get upset stomachs!!)
Asprin
Linen handkerchiefs which you have washed and ironed (they come in handy for lots of things and they smell of home)
Don't forget contact lense solution if he uses it
phone chargers
stationery
pens
dictaphone & tapes
family photographs
A Christmas stocking if he'll be out there for Christmas.
(Don't laugh!...I send my husband a small gift every week, so he has lots on Christmas day and he keeps them in his stocking!)
Blank Birthday and Christmas cards so he can send them to the family from Theatre.
A portable CD player
CDs
Books

This is all I can think of for now. I know how very hard pre deployment is and I'll be thinking of you. :)

Help!! My wife is blaming me for all of our problems and has treated me poorly for years...?

Aaron C

Ok, here's the situation. I love my wife and our children (ages 6 and 3), but she's really pushing me over the edge. I am constantly blamed for our problems and I don't really know what to do anymore. We've been married for over 7 years and have been together for over 10 yrs. Our first year together was pretty good, but then things started going south quickly. She started giving me ultimatums (for example, "if we're not engaged by the time I graduate college, I can't be with you"), starting fights about every little thing nearly every night after she finished work, etc. I was not your typical jerk guy who flirted with other girls, partied a lot, or anything like that. She literally had no reason to be mad at me, yet she always was. Long story short, she got pregnant about 2 and 1/2 years into our relationship, we got married, and my life's been very difficult ever since. I know it's my fault for not ending the relationship sooner, but for some unknown reason I'm deeply in love with this woman. Now we have 2 kids and I can't imagine my life without them every day.

Fast forward to 2010, and we have a ton of issues. We got in another HUGE fight last night over some very insignificant things:

A) She was mad because I stayed in the car while she went into Hallmark to buy her friend a birthday gift. I knew she was only going to be 5 minutes or so, because we were on our way to a restaurant where we had reservations. I had no desire to go into Hallmark, so I told her I would just stay in the car. She responded with her typical "whatever" comment and slammed the door. She brought this up last night and said she believes I don't want to be seen in public with her, which is SO not true. I don't even know where she got that idea.

B) We were trying to decide which bar we would visit after dinner. There's a specific bar where all my old buddies for high school hang out (the ones who never did anything with their lives), and I told her I wanted to avoid that one. I cracked a joke about "not wanting to run into any high school ex girlfriends tonight" and she became livid. She brought this up last night, too. I told her it was a joke and she really shouldn't be so insecure, especially since we graduated from HS over 10 years ago.

C) I have bought my wife flowers on numerous occasions throughout our relationship. I usually go by the store and pick them up myself on my way home from work. I try to do this every few months. One time, I ordered flowers for her on Mother's Day and had them delivered to her job. They apparently didn't look as good as they did in the online photo, and she threw a bloody fit. I will never forget that day. Last night, she brought up the fact that I don't order her flowers from florists and have them delivered, and I reminded her exactly why I don't do that. Again, she got really angry and basically said I don't buy her flowers enough, and when I do, they're not from an expensive enough place.

She says I don't show her enough affection, but it's really hard when I feel like I'm mistreated most of the time. I know it's a vicious cycle and we're both at fault for a number of things, but I don't know how to make it stop. We've been to marriage counseling and that didn't work... she actually still holds a grudge against our counselor because she felt like she was being "picked on" the whole time and she wouldn't accept the fact that she's to blame for most of this. I'm not an aggressive type of person or an angry, high-strung person at all. Most of my friends and family agree that I'm just a nice, quiet guy who doesn't get upset or stressed easily, but my wife brings out the worst in me....

Is there anyone out there in a similar situation that can offer some advice?? I really don't want to leave my wife and kids, but it's getting to the point where I'm becoming very depressed and feeling hopeless.

Answer
You don't want to leave your wife or kids, but can't you see you need to do something drastic in order to force her to make a change. Thus far she has ignored the fact that she is mistreating you. My heart goes out to you. She may be a good woman but is caught up in being critical and demanding as a way to et what she wants from you. She needs to get back on the right path and this will only happen when she gets a wake up call. Why not talk to her and tell her how you feel. Then tell her if she is not willing to work with you to change that you are leaving. This does not necessarily mean a divorce, it means you are sending a message to her that you will no longer put up with being mistreated. So far you have stayed and taken it. She feels no need to change as you have shown her you will tolerate this. Suggest counselling with another counselor. If she refuses then it is time to man up and stop allowing her to step all over you. Nice guys like you are so often taken for granted that it kills me to see a well intended woman do all the things to make his life miserable and she ends up losing him. I sure wish you all the best.

Let me explain some of the stuff I'm dealing with so you can get a better idea. I have issues with 3 females, my mom, her older sister, and her older sisters daughter. I have other female aunts and cousins but they tend to keep to themselves and don't partake in drama. My moms sisters daughter, is almost twice my age, and has grown kids of her own. She used to smoke crack but shes been clean for a few years. She just hates me, plain and simple. She's not my favorite person, but I've tried being nice. I've bought her birthday gifts and went to her birthday party, etc. I am not entirely sure why she hates me, it started when I was a teenager. Frankly, I think she resents me and is envious of me. I don't want to sound conceited, but my life (so far) has gone much smoother and positive that hers did. I have no kids, I have a good relationship with my boyfriend, we have a nice apartment, and most recently I got signed to a reputable modeling agency in my area. It isn't a huge famous agency, but I'm still excited. But my cousin however, she had drug problems, she never started college because she got pregnant when she was 18 and kept having kids till age 37. She lives in the same house she moved into when she was 18, a house her dad payed for. She treats her husband and her kids badly, in my opinion. Anyways, you can tell she really doesn't like her life. So she takes it out on other people, like me. The last time we spoke, I was trying to leave my aunts house when she opened my car door, started screaming cuss words at me, saying that I am a little b*tch and everyone hates me, that I do not love my mother, and she just kept spouting off all this rude stuff. After yelling at her for a bit, I decided it wasn't worth it, and I drove off. It saddens me that a 40 year old acts like a 16 year old, to a 22 year old. Then there's her mother, my aunt. She doesn't really hate me, but she resents me a little as well, I think for similar reasons. Also, she is constantly making condescending and negative comments. She isn't as bad as her daughter, but she does seem to always feel the need to "be right" and prove people wrong. Especially ME, for some reason. You can tell by her statements that she is trying to make others feel inferior, whether she realizes it or not. It is never constructive criticism, its always a snide, smarta** remark. Her and my mom hang out together, so they gossip about people. In my opinion, my aunts negativity rubs off on my mom. My mom is already an emotional person, she lets EVERYTHING get to her. She is crying about something every day, she doesn't even understand what I mean when I tell her to think positive and remove the negative thoughts from her mind. She thinks I'm being mean and insensitive, and then she guilt trips me. When all I am trying to do, is get her to stay positive. Then when she gets together with my aunt, the drama and negativity just compounds. My moms emotional, co dependent nature latches onto my aunts controlling obsessive nature. I really feel like their relationship is toxic. So all of this, gets transferred to me in various ways. Whether its condescending, snide comments on Facebook from my aunt or cousin, or my mom calling me 3 times a day to cry about something, It is EXHAUSTING. How can I deal with this? I know I can't change them, so how can I change the way I deal with things so they wont effect me as much??

Answer
Just don't be around them more than you can help. When they say or do something mean to you, just smile and say, "I sorry you feel that way" or "I hope you feel better."
Unfriend on FB anyone who isn't friendly! Duh!
Be supportive of your mom by trying to get her in a better frame of mind. Give her positive thinking books to read. Refuse to listen to he being negative. Tell her to just write all her negative things down, tear up the paper, and flush it down the toilet of but it in the garbage. Help her plan a healthy life style also. Of course, if she want cooperate, you really can't do anything but keep being positive and telling her you hope she will get better.
Personally, I like "How's that working out for you?" for a questions that helps other redirect.
I also tell people i will pray for them and I do it. I am not sure whether they will accept the help they might get from that but it helps me.
Nobody can make you feel bad without your permission.

You change the way you deal with things by doing what you know is right. Dwell on what is beautiful and healthy. Exercise, eat, pray, and meditate in ways that work for you.
You can't stop the birds from flying over your head, but you don't have to let them nest in your hair, And if while flying over they happen to drop a little s--- on you, a nice shampoo will fix it.

My best friend turn's 40 this week (Female)I need idea's for a birthday gift?

Q. She is married and has a six year old. We've been friend's for 22 year's.

Answer
A spa day or a day at her beauty shop to get her hair done, nails, etc would be good. Most salons offer a package deal for things like that. A gift card to one of her favorite stores is always good too, that way you don't buy her anything she doesn't like and she can get what she wants, right size, color etc. A great card is a must have. She will like anything you give her because she will know that it came from your heart and your her best friend.Good luck!

Go through these cranes
Won't be too much pain
Soon find a great gift
Then you should be swift
To open the door
A paper, no more
And under all this
A message of bliss.

I have a crush.. and were on the brink of going out. I need some ideas for a birthday gift. That is both cute but not trying so hard. You know ?
He plays football ( if that helps )

Answer
You could buy him a new football -- Spalding is a good brand. Or -- even better -- buy him two tickets to a football game, and that way the two of you can go together!

Birthday gift ideas for a 14 year old boy?

My son is turning 14, and he isn't giving out enough ideas for gifts. He has a laptop and an Xbox 360. He plays fighting/shooting games on them. We have 2 dogs, and he plays basketball, rides his bike, and plays on our trampoline. Please! I need ideas!

Answer
does he have an ipod touch? they're expensive, around two hundred dollars, but if you bought him one with a twenty five dollar gift card and some earphones he'd love you. if you consider this get skullcandy earphones, they're the best. im 14 and everyone has an ipod where i live; i got one last year and it was the best present i've ever gotten besides my ps3 and xbox.

if he doesn't have call of duty: black ops or mw3 you could get him that (though he probably already has it), but ask him if he likes it first. don't waste your money. another good game is assassin's creed 3 and elder scrolls: skyrim on xbox 360. this is my personal opinion but don't get mass effect 3 (a game that came out recently). the endings are terrible. dragonage 1 is a good game, but dragonage 2 is pretty bad. the whole entire time i tried to convince myself that its a good game like the previous but i just couldnt

anyways... i also have a dirtbike and longboard. those are mad fun, but dirtbikes are also like two hundred bucks. if he likes bikes consider a dirtbike or ask him about it

does he have a steam account (Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation (o yea i just copied that right off wikipedia i got swag))? if he does get him a vanilla card and let him buy games on there. i just got metro 2033 and total war on pc and theyre awesome.

if he has a favorite basketball player or something, you could buy a fathead for your son (could be about 100 dollars). thatd be pretty funny if i woke up to a life size michael jordan or on my wall lol id be like damn when did that get there

if he has a favorite book series... check which ones he has and get him the next one. though maybe hes not really into books.

lastly... no kid would mind if u just gave him 100 bucks or a vanilla gift card with 100 bucks on it. that way he could buy anything on like, amazon or something he likes. it gives him choice, so its a great present.

oh, i forgot. if he likes southpark, or family guy, dvd sets are good. just anything of his favorite tv show. southpark ftw

good luck dude, im sure whatever u pick will be good mamacita

What Can I do to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday in June ?

Denise

My husband is turning 40, we live in Maine and I wouldn't mind taking him somewhere in New England for a special weekend if anyone as suggestions. He always wanted a Harley but that is out of our budget and isn't an option. He also loves Hippie type anything. I am hoping that if we go away we can rekindle his youth. But if your suggestion is a gift that would be great too. Please help.

Hey! I need some Christmas and birthday gift ideas for my best friend! She is almost a teenager and is a girly girl. I have no clue what to get her and I do not want to ask her cause I want it to be a surprise! Her birthday is close to christmas, thats why i need ideas for both :) Any ideas?

Answer
Well, I know this is what everyone gives their friends but maybe a friendship bracelet? If she is girly then get her a journal with a lock or something so she can express herself freely. Also, at Claire's in the mall they have a ton of best friends knick knacks. Good luck! - Gabriella

Answer
LoL your asking strangers for a gift idea? lets get serious here, only you can give your boyfriend the best gift ever. It should be really to figure out as men are very simple, I know this as I am one. Have you ever listened to any simple odd requests that maybe you thought he was just kidding about? Only you know him or you should and if you don't maybe the best gift you can give him is leaving him lol im kidding don't leave him, Some really cool gifts ive got before , I got this gza wu tang clan shirt that no one ever saw before it was awesome, My wife now is giving me a second chance in her life and I fucked up really bad, that's the best gift ive ever gotten from any woman. A gift should be something heard something that no other woman has given him before. I hope my thoughts were helpful and if nothing else help, look him in the eyes and tell him that he is the greatest man ever, that will make his day:) good luck.

My best friend in the whole world is turning 14 in a bit. She recently lost her mom and I want to get her something AMAZING! But Im the kind of person who doesnt give presents easily. I want a good gift idea for someone like her and a unique way to give it to her. Thanks!

Answer
I don't know if this is in with young teens these days, but when I was around that age I know Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul was a really great book to read through tough times. It covers a lot of topics and issues that teenagers face including death and many other things. So even after coping with her loss she can reference back to the book to deal with things such as puberty, dating, peer pressure, stress of school, family, friends... I mean just lots of things you go through at that age. I strongly beleive that this book might help her. There are also more version of the book each starting with "chicken soup for the(insert specific topic here)" but I would say go with chicken soup for the teenage soul. It'll be perfect for her.

What should I get him for his surprise birthday?
