Dad's 50th birthday gift ideas?!?

Hi guys,
my dad is turning 50 in December, and I have looked through a lot of options, but he is so hard to shop for. He cannot do much because he has severe arthritis, and he doesn't have a set hobby. I was thinking about making him a 'time capsule' of his past, including pictures, but I wouldn't know what else to add? I almost feel like I'm creating more work than I should. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Give him a list of 50 things you love about him, or Buy him 50 small gifts that remind you of him, just do something cute with the number 50.

Food gift or food for the party? Food & Wine gifts are my fav type to give for people who seem to have everything they need (like a 50 year old). Gourmet coffees, teas, chocolates always go over well. Grilling gifts always work too - nice grill set, grilling cookbook, you can supplement with a gift basket of spices, sauces, etc. Or a magazine subscription.
