Birthday gift ideas for 2 year old and 8 year old?

My daughter will be 2 and my son will be 8 (golden birthday) next week. We dont have any idea what to get them as they seem to have everything already!

Daughter has: Little tykes car, wagon, sand box, tricycle, pic nic table, slide for outside toys. Dolls, baby beds and strollers, educational toys, magna doodle, rocking horse, shopping cart, cash register, tons of books, "little people" house, farm, bus, car.

Son has: bike, skate board, pogo stick, roller blades, super soakers, trampoline, PSP, PS3, Star Wars ships and action figures, legos, Playmobile, tons of books.

You get the idea. As their mother, I will admit, they are spoiled when it comes to toys, they do not go without.

But we have to get them something for their birthdays. We like to get outside toys for them because they have birthdays in May and have the whole summer to play outside with them.

Any ideas? Price limit is about 250$ for each of them.

maybe you can combine their 250 and buy them a really sturdy swing set with playhouse. or maybe a basketball set for your boy & a lifesize doll for your girl.

PARTY ideas for a boys 8th Hawaiian Surf Pool Party!!(invites, menu, decorations ect...)?

Hi all, I am having a Hawaiian/Surfer Pool party for my sons 8th birthday. Our pool is very big w/pool house and kitchen, bathroom so no one needs to go inside! I have grass skirts and blow up palm trees w/the coolers in the bottom. I want to make inexpensive invites but am clueless on cool ideas. I also need a menu that's kid friendly but tropical. And decoration ideas. Also any games you can think of or party tips. I hope to have between 30-50 kids. Oh and cheap gift bag ideas too! Basically I just need a bunch of ideas lol! Thanks So much!

My 2 brothers had a Surf themed 8th birthday last year. The invitations were shaped like surf boards and on it said that everyone had to bring a swim suit, a towel & dress like a surfer. We didn't tell them where we were going. But at 9am when everyone was there, we loaded up a Wolkwagen Van Of children and any parent who wanted to come tagged along behins in their own cars. And we headed to the beach. We let every child get surf lessons if they wanted, or just mess about on the beach. We actually got coconuts and put straws in them & we had a barbecque. We also rented some Jet Ski's. And at 9pm we arrived home with a van full of sleeping kids.
That's not possible though is it?
Maybe just buy a few coconuts for the kids to try. And maybe some Pineapple fokd. We had pineapple pizzas (And other Pizzas as well as bbq food).
And maybe put surf bracelets and stuff in the goody bags!
You can probably just print of invitations shaped like palm trees or surf boards.
And put umbrellas in the drinks!
