Birthday present ideas for boyfriend?

it was my boyfriends birthday a few weeks ago and i STILL havent gotten him anything... when i asked him he said he didn't know what he wants, but i feel so bad because it's late and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO GET HIM!!!
something nice that shows him i put some thought into it, not too expensive (max 35$)
ps i already made him an awesome card so nothing homemade-card-ish :)

we've been oficially dating for a month and hes going to be 17
i was thinking about getting a fossil wallet and then putting a gift certificate to a restaurant or a movie inside it. is that weird? is the wallet idea ok?
