I have their birthdays and anniversary dates. Im not wanting to send gifts. Just a card. Is that appropriate?

Do Bible references to birthday celebrations put them in a favorable light? The Bible makes only two references to such celebrations:
Gen. 40:20-22: âNow on the third day it turned out to be Pharaohâs birthday, and he proceeded to make a feast . . . Accordingly he returned the chief of the cupbearers to his post of cupbearer . . . But the chief of the bakers he hung up.â
Matt. 14:6-10: âWhen Herodâs birthday was being celebrated the daughter of Herodias danced at it and pleased Herod so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. Then she, under her motherâs coaching, said: âGive me here upon a platter the head of John the Baptist.â . . . He sent and had John beheaded in the prison.â
Everything that is in the Bible is there for a reason. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17) Jehovahâs Witnesses take note that Godâs Word reports unfavorably about birthday celebrations and so shun these.

Celebrating my 18th birthday in London in a month, what to do?

I'm 18 in a month and a bit and would like to celebrate my birthday doing different stuff in the city. I don't drink and most of my friends are 17 anyways so it would be difficult to go clubbing etc. So far off the top of my head I'm thinking...

For your birthday you should do something unique and memorable. You should host a "picnic in the park" You can have it in a public park or in a neighborhood park. Have enough food, drinks and snacks for everyone. Arrange a great selection of party songs that you can play so everyone can dance . Oh yeah make sure the park has a playground so that your guest can play on the swings,slides and jungle gym. It would be pretty memorable to see all your friends,and family act like kindergartners. Make sure you tell you family and friends now the gifts you want so they will have enough time to buy them.
