birthday for my 30 year old husband...?!?

Ok, so my husband is turning 30 in about 2 weeks. I am planning on making peppered steak for lunch with his family. What should I make on the side. He is a meat and potato man through and through, just so you know.
Also, He's a hunter, fisher, camper...you get it, "outdoorsy." I need to get him a gift and suggest one for his parents to get for him. I was thinking an auger for ice fishing, but wasn't sure if that was a tacky gift. Any ideas?

Yeah, I like the potato gratin idea (you know, cheesy scalloped potatoes), or the sweet type potato salad is a perfect foil for the peppery steak :)

Another thing that would be good is to make steak fries - cut the potatoes into wedges, slather them with olive oil and roast them in the oven at 375 for about an hour, turning halfway.

My hubby is turning 30 in two months. He is not a big fan of the whole over the hill kind of party. I want to do something special for him and get him a great gift. Does anyone have any ideas for a sweet, sexy, and personal way of celebrating his birthday????
I love that idea of the little boy's outfit. That is the type of thing that I want to do. Does anyone have anymore ideas??
He knows that I am not PG and he knows where my mind is at all times.

The man in my life also turned 30 just a month ago but unfortunately, we didn't do anything at all to mark the event.

I didn't have any money to do anything special for him or to buy him anything and none of his friends and family did anything either...

I asked his maternal aunt if she could do something at her house but I guess she just forgot.
