I'm a boy, and I'll be making 16 in a week. She's a VERY good friend, but not more than that. Our relationship is just... platonic if you want...
So she is coming over in one week for my birthday. (we live in different cities) But my birthday is close to Christmas. Her birthday is in the beginning of January, and she'll be turning 18.
Now, she said she bought me a gift already, or a 2 in 1 gift anyway, or something like that. And I am confused now...
My mom says I don't have to get her anything for Christmas because she is not my girlfriend. So do I buy her a Christmas present or should I give her a present sometime between Christmas and her birthday, or should I give her only one present on her birthday?
Some advice please.... Also girls, do you know any nice ideas for gifts?
Second note: I can only see her about 2 or three times during this holiday season... So my options for when I can give her the present are limited.

So, is she not your friend? Does she have to be your girlfriend to qualify for a gift? Wow, honestly your mother did not give you the best advice. A gift does not have to be expensive. There are many shops.
3 for $10 shops. So many delightful gifts ideas awaiting you, my boy.
Go get her a cheap and good gift that she will remember you and her visit to singapore. They even have some souvenirs there. You can pick an informal one for her, since she is not your special girlfriend. A gesture of giving at Christmas without over blowing the budget. Have a wonderful birthday and Merry Christmas.
