Hey all
My mum turns 50 in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if any of you have any good gift ideas... The more I think about it the less ideas I have! She seems to have everything, and I don't want to get her something unimaginative. I want to get something she will use every day and enjoy having. She doesn't drink alcohol and likes to do stuff like going out walking with the dogs and going for meals. I'm strapped for cash so my limit is around £50. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Parting gifts is a sweet idea if that's what you want.
However, I am 56 years old and I have never been to an adult party where the guests go home with a "goodie bag". Anyway, I'd say do it if it feels good, but no one will expect a going away gift. That idea was started so little kids would not feel upset when the Birthday kid gets all the gifts. I don't feel it's at all necessary for an adult party.
I do love Dollar Tree, and found some great plastic chinese cartons there - real cute. Maybe just a few small candies and fortune cookies. If you start purchasing several dollar items for each gift carton, it would get into some big money.
